SUMMARY:Put Art in Your Heart 2023
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Hyattsville Aging in Place (HAP) hosts a valentine party\, Put Art in Your Heart\, that brings people of all ages from Hyattsville and the surrounding communities together to make valentines for area seniors. Starting in 2021\, to ensure that seniors did not miss out on these caring notes despite the difficulties of the COVID pandemic\, HAP teamed up with local Girl Scouts Honor Cadette Troop 23007 to ensure our Neighbors received a sweet Valentine’s Day surprise. It was a rousing success. \nFor 2023\, Hyattsville Aging in Place is again working with Girl Scouts Claire and Maggie\, who have volunteered at Put Art in Your Heart since they were old enough to use scissors. \nWe are asking people to buy Girl Scout cookies that will be donated to area seniors. The Girl Scouts will make valentines to accompany each box when they deliver them. Each box costs $5 and can be ordered from this page. You can personalize the valentine’s message from the same page\, or\, if you want to make your own valentines for the girls to deliver\, mail them to “Valentines ℅ HAP\, 5104 42nd Ave. Hyattsville\, MD 20781.” You can also sign up for updates on the troop’s valentine-making efforts from the same page. \nThe website for ordering cookies and valentines is open NOW. Cookie orders must be finalized by February 10th to ensure the troop has time to make all the necessary valentines for delivery.
