SUMMARY:The Lunch Bunch @ Franklins
DESCRIPTION:Hyattsville Aging in Place organizes social lunches for neighbors\, volunteers\, and anyone looking to connect over a good meal! The meals create an opportunity to meet new friends\, share stories\, and simply enjoy each other’s company. \nEach person covers the cost of their own meal\, and HAP can help facilitate/provide transportation as needed. All lunches are at noon. To RSVP or ask questions\, please email HAPcares@gmail.com. If you need a ride\, call 301-887-3101. \nJoin HAP for our monthly Lunch Bunch on May 18 at 12:00 noon. We’ll be dining at Franklins\, located at 5123 Baltimore Ave. In May the Lunch Bunch is meeting a week later than usual because HAP is hosting a fundraiser at Franklins on May 18th! Hyattsville Aging in Place will receive a percentage of all purchases made in the restaurant and store that day. So\, join us for a delicious lunch at one of Hyattsville’s favorite restaurants\, and make sure to stock up on spring/summer wine\, graduation gifts\, and take-home cartons of their homemade ice cream. (We have it on good authority — since it’s a fundraiser for a good cause — the ice cream will all be calorie-free that day!)

SUMMARY:Spring Garden Planning Starts in the Fall
DESCRIPTION:For perennial wildflowers\, autumn is prime time to sow native seeds\, plant bare-root perennials\, and divide established clumps. Fall planting allows roots to establish before winter\, giving you vibrant blooms and pollinator habitat as early as next spring. \nIn the kitchen garden and food forests\, fall is when you order your bare roots\, fertilize your berry bushes\, your asparagus\, plant rhubarb\, and other hardy perennials. It’s also the ideal moment to sheet-mulch new beds\, spread compost\, and sow cover crops that will build soil over winter. \nBy planning and planting in fall\, you’ll wake up to stronger plants\, richer soil\, and an earlier\, more abundant harvest next season. Remember: the best spring gardens are born in the fall. \nJoin Victory Gardens Coach Renaud Beauchard to learn ways to prepare your garden now for a successful spring! \nClick Here to Register to Receive the Zoom Link. \nCorridor Conversations is organized by Hyattsville Aging in Place\, Neighbors Helping Neighbors College Park\, Helping Hands University Park\, Gateway Aging Together\, and Explorations on Aging College Park.
