Hyattsville Aging in Place is organizing social lunches for neighbors, volunteers, and anyone looking to connect over a good meal! We want to create an opportunity to meet new friends, share stories, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

Each person will cover the cost of their own meal, and HAP can help facilitate/provide transportation as needed. All lunches will be at noon. To RSVP or ask questions, please email HAPCares@gmail.com. If you need a ride, call 301-887-3101.

If you haven’t tried Ethiopian food before, you’re in for a treat: It has a delicious taste in a different format. The dishes will be primarily stews of chicken, lamb, or vegetarian options (or a combination of those) and are eaten with a spongy sort of “bread” called injera. There is no silverware—you use the Injera to pick up the food. You can order your own dish or order with other people and share the dishes on a large platter in the center of your table.
