On January 28, 2023, Washington, D.C.-based artist Carol Morgan and Riverdale Park-based poet Gerry Hendershot discussed their collaboration, Metro Anthology: Stories and Drawings about Metro Riders, a book of Carol’s drawings and Gerry’s poems. Carol sketches other riders on Metro buses and trains, noticing the diverse backgrounds of the people she sees, and Gerry imagines their lives and writes poems about them.
The event was part of the Route 1 Corridor Conversations series organized by Hyattsville Aging in Place, Helping Hands University Park, Neighbors Helping Neighbors College Park, and Explorations on Aging College Park.
